This year to mark Education Week the Department of Education set students from all across the state a challenge: how to humanise technology. Our students submitted a one minute video showing how communication has changed from the earliest time to now: from message sticks to Snapchat. And the team of 6 students was one of 17 teams selected from right across NSW, to attend an amazing 3 day extravaganza.
This kicked off at Google headquarters and culminated in a competitive presentation of their novel ideas, at the new Department of Education offices at Parramatta. The team from Sydney Children’s Hospital School came up with the idea of a futuristic medical station that could provide rural patients real time specialist medical treatment in their own home. For their great idea they were awarded the People’s Choice award.
